Prestanda skillnad mellan DDR3-1600 och DDR4-3200

Performance difference between DDR3-1600 and DDR4-3200

In the past ten years, there have been major advances in computer memory technology, resulting in faster and more efficient RAM (Random Access Memory.)

This is due to a number of factors, including improvements in manufacturing processes and the development of new memory types. One of the biggest differences between RAM from ten years ago and today is speed.

Today, memories can have transfer speeds of 3200 MT/s (MT/s = MegaTransfers per Second), compared to 1600 MT/s ten years ago. In practice, 3200.00 MT/s means transfer speeds of 25600 MB/s, which is the maximum bandwidth of an i7-3720QM processor from Q2 2012... 10 years ago...

In order for you to fully benefit from today's new memory technology, it may be important to ensure that the motherboard, processor and other components do not become a bottleneck in the system.

In performance tests, the new memory modules can be up to twice as fast in an optimal test computer and up to half as fast in a less optimized computer compared to the old memory type.

In conclusion, saying that RAM memories are a bit behind their time or that processors were ahead of their time and that there is not much difference in performance over 10 makes one think....what do you really get for your money when you buy a new computer compared to a better used one?
