Vad är fabriksrekonditionerad IT-hårdvara?

What is factory-refurbished IT hardware?

Factory-refurbished IT equipment is products that are restored to their original condition by the manufacturer themselves or by an authorized service provider.

A factory reconditioning often includes an inspection, possible repair or refurbishment of defective units that have been used previously. They are then sold as "reconditioned" at a lower price than new units, but often with the same warranty and technical specifications, with the possibility of warranty enhancement just like on a new unit.

Products that are sold factory refurbished include Server & Storage Solutions, Networks, Tablets & Mobile Phones, Laptops & Desktops, Print, Components & Spare Parts.

Below are some of the steps that a factory refurbished product goes through:

Inspection: A technician inspects the product to identify any problems and damage.

Repair: Any problems and damage are repaired, including replacing parts and adjusting settings and restoring software.

Cleaning: The product is cleaned and restored to its original appearance.

Testing: The product is tested to ensure that it functions properly and meets all technical specifications as a new device.

Verification: The service provider verifies that all repairs and adjustments have been performed correctly and that the product is ready to be sold again.

These steps are intended to ensure that the product functions like a new product and are therefore usually sold with the same warranty as a new product.

Below I mention some manufacturers that have their own factory reconditioning program,

CISCO Refresh
HP Renew
Dell Refurbished Remanufactured
Lenovo Remanufactured Program
Microsoft Certified Refurbished
Apple Certified Refurbished

Factory-refurbished hardware is available where you normally buy your IT products from official distributors and IT resellers. All you have to do is ask the next time you're thinking about expanding your hardware fleet.
