Datadestruktion av minnesmedia

Data destruction of memory media

When an organization needs to handle data destruction and or secure data erasure of storage media such as hard drives, solid state drives, USB drives, external hard drives, or backup tapes where the content is of an information-sensitive nature.

This could, for example, involve laptops or desktops with personal information from former employees or information in servers or storage solutions in data centers that have stored trade secrets, customer data or other GDPR sensitive material.

Make sure that trade secrets don't fall into the wrong hands!

As an organization, you therefore need to be able to securely delete personal data or trade secrets when they are no longer needed, protect personal data so that unauthorized persons do not have access to them, and also show how you comply with the Data Protection Regulation or your own established internal security policy, such as deletion certificates or destruction certificates, as some examples.

If your organization does not currently have procedures in place to protect your GDPR, your own trade secrets or the Data Protection Regulation, there are several services on the market that can help. This can range from on-site destruction in your organization to secure collection and deletion for resale or data destruction through a traceable process that meets the requirements of ISO27001.

Could your organization be at risk of a data breach without your knowledge?

Your organization is always responsible for its own collected data, even if it is temporarily stored in the organization before it is deleted or destroyed.

Discarded electronics that cannot be considered securely deleted or destroyed can lead to a potential data breach for which you are responsible.

Below we go through different types of secure deletion and destruction services.

DATA DELETION

We offer solutions for erasing and overwriting data for all types of hard drives, hybrid drives, solid state drives, external storage solutions and other memory media.

The deletion is done with Blancco, an erasure tool certified by, among others, the Swedish Armed Forces and NATO.

A detailed report is compiled and presented for each individual deleted product at the part number, product and serial number level and how the deletion was carried out.
This means that you as an organization have full visibility, can follow the process and handling and receive the necessary documentation that may need to be presented to national or international law enforcement authorities or in the event of a possible audit. The advantage of this handling is that the memory media is still usable and can therefore be safely sold on to the next user.

SHREDDING - DATA DESTRUCTION

Data-bearing devices such as hard drives, hybrid drives, solid state drives, external storage solutions, backup tapes and other memory media are shredded on site to 15 mm and the electronic waste is then taken care of and recycled in an environmentally correct manner and then becomes new secondary raw materials in the manufacturing industry.

DEMAGNETIZATION - DATA DESTRUCTION

Data-carrying devices are exposed to a powerful magnetic field to demagnetize the storage medium and works for hard drives, hybrid drives, solid state drives, external storage solutions, backup tapes and other memory media in cases where all system information is to be permanently deleted. After demagnetization, the memory media can no longer be used and the data can no longer be restored, which means that this is a permanent destruction method that makes the medium unusable. This service can also be combined with on-site shredding. The electronic waste is then taken care of and recycled in an environmentally correct manner and then becomes new secondary raw materials in the manufacturing industry.

PUNCHING - DATA DESTRUCTION

Data-carrying devices such as hard drives, hybrid drives, solid state drives, external storage solutions, backup tapes and other memory media are exposed to ninety nails that perforate and destroy individual memory circuits. After perforation, the memory media can no longer be used and the data can no longer be restored, which means that this is a permanent destruction method that makes the media unusable. This service can also be combined with shredding and degaussing on site.
The electronic waste is then taken care of and recycled in an environmentally correct manner and then becomes new secondary raw materials in the manufacturing industry.

HOLESTING complies with the following directives

DOD Emergency Destruction Guidelines
GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation)
GLBA (Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act)
HIPAA (Health Information Portability and Accountability Act)
NIST SP

All processes and methods described above meet the requirements of Swedish environmental legislation, the EU WEEE Directive and GDPR. Services follow the same process locally and globally and are performed in an environment that has received the highest security classification and where the end-of-life electronics that are destroyed and the material that needs to be recycled are performed in the same physical location. This minimizes unnecessary transport so you can be confident that the electronics you send will not end up with a third party.

SERVICES PERFORMED AT YOUR CUSTOMER'S PLACE

All services performed for you as a customer are handled by a specially trained operational unit where all employees in the field are certified to carry out the assignment.

All of our data destruction options are not always possible to perform on-site, due to space constraints and the fact that IT equipment can be disabled during degaussing. A preliminary analysis of the current situation is carried out on each individual occasion, initially over the phone and then on-site at your location before services are performed so that the right conditions can be ensured.
